- Active tracker policy (UK) – Up to £1000 from a UK host claims reimbursement tied to missing or late return of select model vehicles if you didn’t have an activated tracker in place or you don’t provide requested vehicle location information
- Active tracker policy (US) – Up to to 20% of covered damages above the protection plan deductible tied to vehicles with a total market value of $125,000+ if you didn’t have an activated OEM tracker in place or you don’t provide requested vehicle location information
- Cleaning policy violation – Possible charge of $50 cancellation fee and no payout of host earnings if a guest reports that vehicle wasn’t clean when they arrived to pick it up
- Damage claim filed without valid pre- and post-trip photos: (US and Canada, Turo Go exempt) – $25* fee if you submit a damage claim and haven’t uploaded valid pre- and post-trip photos that document the car’s condition
- Frivolous (non-covered) damage claims: (US and Canada) – $25* fee if you file a claim that’s invalid or illegitimate
- Gray market policy violation – $150 processing fee plus liquidated damages of $5,500* as per our Terms of serviceif you request, accept, or make payment outside of Turo for charges meant to be handled via the platform
- Host no-show – $150* fee if you fail to show up for a booked trip
- Host trip cancellations – $25 fee if you cancel a trip more than 24 hours before it starts; $50 fee if you cancel less than 24 hours before a trip starts
- Ineligible reimbursement invoices – $50* fee (first offense), $200* fee (second offense), and $500* fee (subsequent offenses) and remove from earnings any related reimbursement received if you submit an ineligible reimbursement invoice
- Maintenance policy violation – $100* fee plus a $200* roadside fee if roadside assistance is dispatched if you fail to follow Turo’s maintenance requirements for listing your vehicle or disregard laws and regulations for vehicle safety, condition, and operation in your area. Hosts in the UK may be charged up to $500*, which would include a violation fee of $100* and administrative fee of $200* if roadside service is dispatched because of a maintenance issue.
- Material misrepresentation (US, AU and Canada) – Minimum of $200* up to a maximum of $2,000* if you submit false or misleading information for a claim or reimbursement
- Profiteering – Deduction of a $250 violation fee or the amount necessary for the new trip’s earnings to equal the original trip’s earnings if you cancel a trip for the purpose of seeking a higher price from a guest
- UK appraisal deposit – Up to £300 per claim for appraisal costs; deposit won’t be refunded if the claim is denied
- Unreported guest no-show – Removal of trip earnings if a guest doesn’t show up for a trip and don’t report the no-show and collect earnings instead
- Vehicle misrepresentation – $100* per violation plus $200* fee if roadside assistance is dispatched if you don’t disclose a vehicle’s issues or damage, improperly describe or display your vehicle, or commit other acts of misrepresentation
- Violation after receiving a formal written warning – $500* (first offense), $1,000 (second offense) if we issue a formal warning about a terms of service or other policy violation
